Survey your workplace
quickly, and chances are, you’ll see at least one printer. After
all, how would contracts, employee evaluations, budget proposals, or
office memos be reviewed and signed without being printed out first?
Despite the usefulness of such office equipment though, it can still
have problems every now and then.
For example, if your
computer can’t seem to locate your printer, ensure that it is
plugged into a socket and connected to your PC or Mac via USB, Wi-Fi,
or Ethernet cable. If there are no problems with the connections, the
printer’s driver may be the one at fault. To solve this, go to the
printer manufacturer’s website, find and download the latest
driver, and install it.
Sometimes, your printer
will inform you that your ink
toner cartridge level is low. While all printers have ink
level sensors, their accuracy may not always be spot on. As long as
you’re getting clear printouts, treat such notifications as
friendly reminders. That being said, it’s always wise to have spare
ink cartridges on stock should you find yourself in need of
multi-page printing for a big project. Thus, if you have a Xerox
Phaser 6180, for example, take the initiative and buy extra
supplies of Xerox Phaser 6180 toner to be safe.
